Many people are aware that the Fibonacci Sequence can be generated as a discrete population model for a pair of immortal rabbits (one male and one female) that require one season to mature and which then reproduce to yield an additional perfect pair of rabbits once per season thereafter. The Fibonacci sequence is well known and very intensively studied. Discrete population growth models for perfect mortal rabbits also yield interesting number sequences.
